The Montana State University Bobcats battled valiantly against the University of Utah Utes last night at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, but ultimately fell short, with a final score of Utes 5, Bobcats 2.

The Utes came out firing, peppering the Bobcats’ net with 38 shots, while the Bobcats retaliated with a respectable 31 shots. Despite their efforts, the Bobcats were unable to capitalize on their two power play opportunities. The Utes, on the other hand, didn’t have any power play opportunities but made the most of their regular play.

In the goalie matchup, the Utes’ Miranda De Antunano stopped 29 out of 31 shots, while the Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell made 33 saves on 38 shots.

It was a big night for Utes’ Morgan Lavalley, who found the back of the net twice. For the Bobcats, Elly Aldrich stood out with a goal.

The Bobcats will look to bounce back in their next game, a home match against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will surely be working on their power play execution and defensive strategies in the lead-up to this crucial game.
