The Montana State University Bobcats put on an impressive display last night against the University of Wyoming Pokes, securing a 4-1 victory in a thrilling contest at the Haynes Pavilion.
Despite being outshot 55 to 35, the Bobcats’ defense held strong, with goaltender Reese McConnell making an astounding 54 saves. This spectacular performance by McConnell kept the Pokes at bay, who were unable to capitalize on any of their three powerplays. The Bobcats, too, could not convert their four powerplay opportunities, but this did not hinder their offensive prowess.
The Pokes’ only goal came from #2 Zoey Brown, while Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts also found the back of the net. Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash, despite a valiant effort, was unable to keep the Bobcats’ offense in check, saving 31 out of 35 shots.
This victory is another feather in the cap for the Bobcats, who have been consistently delivering strong performances this season. The team’s next challenge will be against the University of Utah, in a home game scheduled for Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the next game, hoping for another Bobcats’ victory to keep the momentum going. The team’s performance against the Pokes has set high expectations, and the Bobcats are more than ready to meet them.
