In an exhilarating game at the Haynes Pavilion last evening, the Montana State University Bobcats emerged victorious against the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final scoreline of 4-1.
Despite the Pokes dominating the shot count with 55 attempts compared to the Bobcats’ 35, the Bobcats showed superior efficiency and precision. Both teams failed to capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4.
The goalkeeping was another crucial factor in this game. The Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, managed 31 saves out of 35 shots. However, it was the Bobcats’ Reese Mcconnell who stole the show with a staggering 54 saves out of 55 shots, allowing only one goal from the Pokes’ #2, Zoey Brown.
For the Bobcats, #26 Nicola Roberts managed to find the back of the net, contributing to the team’s impressive victory.
The Bobcats will look to continue their winning momentum in their next game at home against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. The team and their fans alike will be hoping for another stellar performance.
