In a hard-fought match on Sunday evening, the Montana State University Bobcats succumbed to the University of Utah Utes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final score was 5-2 in favor of the Utes, who capitalized on their offensive opportunities with a total of 38 shots against the Bobcats’ 31.
The Bobcats’ powerplay opportunities were limited, with two attempts that unfortunately didn’t result in goals. The Utes, on the other hand, didn’t have any powerplay opportunities but managed to maintain their lead throughout the game.
The goaltending on both sides was commendable. Utes’ Miranda De Antunano faced 31 shots and made an impressive 29 saves, while Bobcats’ Reese McConnell was kept busy with 38 shots, making 33 saves.
The Utes’ Morgan Lavalley emerged as the star player of the match, netting two goals. For the Bobcats, Rylan Lorentz managed to get one past the Utes’ goaltender, contributing to the Bobcats’ two goals.
