The Montana State University Bobcats suffered a heavy loss at the hands of the Grand Canyon University Antelopes on Saturday night at AZ Ice Arcadia. The final score was a lopsided 9-1, with the Antelopes outshooting the Bobcats 76-27.

The Bobcats’ defense struggled to contain the Antelopes’ aggressive offense, with Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell making 17 saves on a whopping 76 shots. The Antelopes’ Annika Olson, on the other hand, had a quieter night in goal, facing only 27 shots and saving 26 of them.

Despite the Bobcats’ efforts, they were unable to capitalize on any of their four powerplay opportunities. The Antelopes, however, made the most of their chances, converting three out of their four powerplays into goals.

The lone goal for the Bobcats came from Charlotte Wallace, while on the Antelopes’ side, Abigail Brigg led the charge with a hat trick.

The Bobcats will have a chance to redeem themselves as they face the Antelopes again on the road on Saturday, October 17th at 7:45 pm PDT at AZ Ice Arcadia. They will certainly be looking to tighten up their defense and create more opportunities on offense in their next encounter.
