The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging defeat against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes, with a final score of 7-1, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 21, 2026.

The Antelopes dominated the game, putting up a staggering 64 shots to the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats had a hard time breaking through the Antelopes’ defense and their efforts to capitalize on powerplays fell short, with 0 goals in 2 attempts. On the other hand, the Antelopes managed to convert one of their three powerplays into a goal.

The Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, faced an onslaught of shots, managing to save 57 out of 64. Despite the heavy loss, Carlson’s performance was commendable given the circumstances. On the opposite end, Annika Olson of the Antelopes had a relatively easy night, facing only 19 shots and saving 18.

The star of the night was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ Jennae Szucs, who netted a hat trick, contributing significantly to her team’s victory. For the Bobcats, Marin Snyder was the lone scorer, managing to put one past Olson.

Despite the tough loss, the Bobcats showed moments of promise and will surely be looking to bounce back in their upcoming games. The team will be focusing on improving their defensive strategies and offensive execution in order to compete against high-performing teams like the Antelopes.
