The Montana State University Bobcats put up a gallant fight against the University of Wyoming Pokes on Tuesday, but ultimately fell short in a 5-2 loss. Despite outshooting the Pokes 59-36, the Bobcats couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities, converting only one of their seven powerplays.
Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, had a busy day at the office, facing 36 shots and making 31 saves. On the other end of the ice, Pokes’ goalie Alayna Smith was the standout performer of the match, making an impressive 57 saves from 59 shots.
Aziana Schacht was the lone goal scorer for the Bobcats, while Anna Brenner of the Pokes contributed significantly to her team’s success with two assists.
The loss is a setback for the Bobcats, but they will be looking to bounce back in their next game against the University of Utah. The game will be held at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink (CO) on Friday, February 20th. The Bobcats will be hoping to turn their fortunes around and come out with a victory.
