In an exhilarating showdown last night at the Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats emerged victorious, defeating the University of Wyoming Pokes with a final score of 4-1. Despite the Pokes taking more shots at the goal, it was the Bobcats who demonstrated their superior offensive skills.
The Pokes launched an impressive 55 shots, but the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, was in top form, making a staggering 54 saves. On the other side of the rink, the Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, faced 35 shots, saving 31.
Neither team managed to capitalize on their powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4. Despite these missed opportunities, the Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts managed to find the back of the net, contributing to the team’s total of 4 goals. The Pokes’ only goal came from #2 Zoey Brown.
The Bobcats will be looking to carry this momentum into their next game, which will be a home game against the University of Utah. The game is scheduled for Friday, Feb 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado. The Bobcats will undoubtedly be hoping for a repeat performance of last night’s impressive win.
