In a thrilling display of skill and teamwork, the Montana State University Bobcats secured a decisive victory against the University of Wyoming Pokes last night. The final score of the game was 4-1 in favor of the Bobcats.
The Pokes, despite having more shots on goal with 55 attempts, were outmatched by the Bobcats’ excellent defense and goalie performance. The Bobcats, on the other hand, made the most of their 35 shots, resulting in four goals.
Both teams struggled with their powerplays, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats slightly worse at 0/4. Despite this, the Bobcats’ defense remained unyielding, making it difficult for the Pokes to find the back of the net.
The goaltending was a highlight of the night. Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed to save 31 out of 35 shots, while Bobcats’ Reese McConnell put on a stellar performance, saving an impressive 54 out of 55 shots.
Pokes’ #2 Zoey Brown managed to score the only goal for her team. On the Bobcats’ side, #26 Nicola Roberts also notched a goal, contributing to the team’s victory.
The Bobcats will carry this momentum into their next game, which will be a home match against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20th, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Be sure to come out and support the Bobcats as they look to continue their winning streak!
