The Montana State University Bobcats skated to a dominant 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes on February 7, 2026. Despite being outshot 55-35, the Bobcats proved that quality trumps quantity by capitalizing on their opportunities.

The game, held at Haynes Pavilion, was a showcase of defensive prowess, especially from Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell. McConnell faced a barrage of 55 shots from the determined Pokes, but stood tall in net, making an impressive 54 saves.

On the other side of the ice, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash had a challenging night, saving 31 out of 35 shots from the Bobcats.

The powerplay units from both teams had a quiet evening, with the Pokes going 0 for 3 and the Bobcats going 0 for 4.

The goal scorers for the night were Pokes’ #2, Zoey Brown, who managed to sneak one past McConnell, and Bobcats’ #26, Nicola Roberts, who added to the Bobcats’ tally.

The Bobcats will aim to carry this momentum into their next game at home against the University of Utah on Friday, February 20, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Keep an eye on this space for more updates on the Bobcats’ season.
