In a heated contest at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes, 5-2. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats couldn’t overcome the Utes’ relentless offensive pressure.
The Utes outshot the Bobcats 38 to 31, with Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano making 29 saves from the 31 shots on goal. On the opposing end, Bobcats’ goalie Reese Mcconnell had a busy night, facing 38 shots and making 33 saves.
In the powerplay department, the Bobcats had 2 opportunities but failed to convert any into goals. The Utes, on the other hand, did not have any powerplay opportunities.
Highlighting the Utes’ offensive prowess, #12 Morgan Lavalley netted 2 goals, contributing significantly to the Utes’ victory. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to find the back of the net, scoring 1 of the 2 Bobcats’ goals.
Looking ahead, the Bobcats will be hosting Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team will be aiming to bounce back and secure a win in their next game.
