In an action-packed hockey showdown at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink, the Montana State University Bobcats fell short against the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 5-2. Despite the Bobcats’ valiant effort, the Utes managed to maintain their lead throughout the game.
The Utes outshot the Bobcats 38 to 31, but the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, put up a strong fight with 33 saves. On the other end of the ice, the Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, saved 29 shots, helping her team secure the victory.
The Bobcats’ powerplay attempts were unsuccessful, going 0 for 2, while the Utes did not have any powerplay opportunities.
Standout players of the game included Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals, and Bobcats’ #22 Rylan Lorentz, who managed to net one goal for his team.
