In a game that showcased the grit and resilience of both teams, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Utah Utes with a final score of 5-2. The game took place at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink on February 20, 2026, and despite the loss, the Bobcats showed a promising performance.

The Utes managed a total of 38 shots on goal, with #12 Morgan Lavalley leading the charge with 2 goals. On the other side of the ice, the Bobcats managed 31 shots, with #18 Elly Aldrich scoring one of the two goals for the team.

The Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had an impressive performance, saving 29 out of 31 shots. Meanwhile, Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell also showcased his skills, saving 33 out of 38 shots.

Despite having two powerplay opportunities, the Bobcats were unable to capitalize on them, while the Utes didn’t have any powerplay chances throughout the game.

While the game ended in favor of the Utes, the Bobcats demonstrated their tenacity and fighting spirit. They will be looking to bounce back in their next game against Grand Canyon University on February 21, back at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink.
