The Montana State University Bobcats showed their prowess on the ice last night, taking down the University of Wyoming Pokes with a decisive 5-1 victory at the Laramie Ice & Events Center.
From the get-go, the Bobcats were relentless, outshooting the Pokes 46-21. Their offensive pressure was simply too much for the Pokes to handle, resulting in a lopsided scoreline.
Bobcats’ powerplay was solid, converting 1 out of 9 chances. The Pokes, on the other hand, struggled to find their footing, failing to capitalize on any of their 7 powerplay opportunities.
Bobcats’ goalie, Reese Mcconnell, put on a stellar performance, stopping 20 of the 21 shots he faced. Pokes’ goalie, Alayna Smith, had a tough night in the crease, saving just 10 out of the 46 shots fired her way.
Aydin Chisaakay-Soucy of the Bobcats was a key player in the game, dishing out 2 assists. On the Pokes’ side, Anabella Fausett managed to sneak in a goal, providing the only bright spot for her team.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Colorado State University on Saturday, October 4th, at the Edora Pool Ice Center in Colorado. The puck drops at 7:30 PM. Be sure to tune in and support our Bobcats as they continue their winning streak!
