It was a thrilling night of hockey at Haynes Pavilion on October 18th as the Montana State University Bobcats claimed victory over the University of Colorado Buffaloes with a final score of 3-1.
Despite the Buffaloes launching 32 shots, Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell was a wall between the pipes. McConnell turned aside 31 of those shots, allowing only a single goal from Buffaloes’ Anna Masiello.
On the other end of the ice, the Bobcats made the most of their 26 shots. Nicola Roberts led the charge for the Bobcats, netting two goals and proving to be a key player in this hard-fought victory.
Neither team was able to capitalize on their powerplay opportunities, with both the Bobcats and the Buffaloes going 0 for 4.
The Bobcats’ win was not just a team effort, but a testament to the solid goaltending of McConnell and the sharpshooting of Roberts.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game on Friday, October 24th. They’ll be facing off against the University of Washington at the Kraken Community Iceplex in Washington.
Stay tuned for more updates and let’s go Bobcats!
