In a hard-fought game at Haynes Pavilion, the Montana State University Bobcats fell 4-2 to the University of Utah Utes. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats couldn’t overcome the Utes’ aggressive attack, which resulted in a total of 42 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 33.
The Bobcats’ defense was put to the test, with goalie Emma Carlson facing a barrage of shots. Carlson made an impressive 38 saves, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Utes’ offense. On the other side, Utes’ goalie Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine made 31 saves out of 33 shots.
The Bobcats’ powerplay managed to convert 1 out of 4 opportunities, while the Utes were held scoreless in their 6 powerplay attempts. This was a positive takeaway for the Bobcats, showing they can capitalize on their chances when given the opportunity.
Bobcats’ #19 Aziana Schacht scored one of the two goals for her team, adding to her season tally. However, the night belonged to Utes’ #20 Ashley Paterson, who netted two goals, contributing significantly to her team’s victory.
