In a tense match last night, the Montana State University Bobcats were narrowly defeated by the Grand Canyon University Antelopes with a final score of 1-0. The game took place at AZ Ice Arcadia, with both teams giving it their all on the ice.

Despite outshooting the Bobcats 52-28, the Antelopes were only able to net one goal, thanks to the formidable defense put up by Bobcats’ goalie Reese McConnell. McConnell made an impressive 51 saves, a testament to his agility and quick reflexes.

On the other hand, the Antelopes’ goalie, Annika Olson, also put on a stellar performance, stopping all 28 shots fired by the Bobcats.

Both teams’ powerplay units had an off night, with neither team able to capitalize on their opportunities, going 0 for 4.

The lone goal of the night came from Antelopes’ #5 Taylor Zahalka, who managed to break through the Bobcats’ defense and beat McConnell.

The Bobcats’ #20 Marin Snyder received a penalty, serving 2 minutes in the box.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed great resilience and determination. They will be looking to bounce back in their next game away against the University of Arizona on Saturday, January 31 at AZ Ice Peoria.
