In an exciting turn of events, the Montana State University Bobcats pulled off a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Grand Canyon University Antelopes at AZ Ice Arcadia. Despite being heavily outshot by the Antelopes, the Bobcats displayed a stunning performance on February 1, 2026, proving that it’s not about how many shots you take, but how many you make.

The Bobcats were under constant pressure throughout the game, facing a staggering 55 shots from the Antelopes. However, Bobcats goaltender Reese McConnell rose to the occasion, making an impressive 53 saves. On the other side of the rink, Antelopes goalie Sydney Fornwald faced 23 shots, managing to save 20.

The Bobcats’ powerplay proved to be more effective, capitalizing on 2 out of 4 opportunities, while the Antelopes managed to convert only 1 out of 3. The Bobcats’ #26, Nicola Roberts, was the star of the night, netting two crucial goals that helped secure the win.

The Antelopes’ sole goal came from #17, Abigail Brigg. Despite their aggressive offense, the Antelopes were unable to break through the Bobcats’ solid defense and goaltending.

This victory for the Bobcats not only demonstrates their resilience but also their ability to execute under pressure. They’ll look to carry this momentum into their next game, which is a home match against the University of Wyoming. The game is set to take place on Friday, February 6, at 8:30 pm MST at Haynes Pavilion.

Stay tuned for more updates and let’s continue to cheer for our Bobcats as they take on the rest of the season!
