In a heart-stopping overtime showdown, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the University of Arizona Wildcats in a 5-4 defeat. The game, held at AZ Ice Peoria, saw the Wildcats claw their way to victory despite a valiant effort from the Bobcats.

The Bobcats fired off a commendable 39 shots, while the Wildcats unleashed a barrage of 68 shots. Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, put on a remarkable display, saving 63 shots. On the other end, Wildcats’ Olivia Sorlie thwarted 35 shots.

In the powerplay department, the Bobcats couldn’t capitalize on their three opportunities, while the Wildcats managed to convert one out of their five chances.

Bobcats’ #26, Nicola Roberts, was a standout performer, netting two goals. However, her effort was overshadowed by Wildcats’ #22, Lilly Howell, who notched a hat trick, contributing significantly to her team’s victory.

The Bobcats will now look to bounce back in their next game, an away fixture against Grand Canyon University on Sunday, February 1 at AZ Ice Arcadia. They will undoubtedly be seeking to turn their fortunes around and come out on top in their next encounter.
