In a closely contested game at AZ Ice Arcadia (AZ), the Montana State University Bobcats were narrowly defeated by the Grand Canyon University Antelopes, with a final score of 0-1.

The Bobcats put up a strong fight, taking 28 shots at the Antelopes’ net. However, Antelopes’ goalie, Annika Olson, put on an impressive performance, saving all 28 shots and keeping the Bobcats off the scoreboard.

On the other side of the ice, the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese Mcconnell, faced a barrage of 52 shots from the Antelopes. Mcconnell managed to save 51 of them, but one slipped through, courtesy of Antelopes’ #5 Taylor Zahalka, which turned out to be the game-winning goal.

Both teams had four powerplay opportunities, but neither could capitalize on them, showing the strength of both teams’ penalty killing units. Bobcats’ #10 Faith Hobbs spent some time in the penalty box with 2 minutes for undisclosed infractions.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed great resilience against a tough Antelopes team. They will be looking to bounce back in their next game against the University of Arizona on Sat, Jan 31 at AZ Ice Peoria (AZ). The Bobcats will need to bring their A-game to get back on the winning track.
