Last night at the Haynes Pavilion, we witnessed an electrifying hockey match between the Montana State University Bobcats and the University of Wyoming Pokes. The Bobcats emerged victorious with a final score of 4-1, despite being outshot by the Pokes.

The Pokes fired 55 shots at the Bobcats, but were only able to find the back of the net once, thanks to Zoey Brown (#2). However, the Bobcats were more efficient with their 35 shots, scoring four times, with Nicola Roberts (#26) among the goal scorers.

Both teams had opportunities on the powerplay, but neither were able to capitalize. The Pokes had three powerplay opportunities, while the Bobcats had four, but both teams remained scoreless in these situations.

In goal for the Pokes was Pudgie Sabinash, who faced 35 shots and made 31 saves. On the other side of the ice, Reese McConnell was the star of the night for the Bobcats. Despite facing a barrage of 55 shots, McConnell was nearly perfect, making an impressive 54 saves.

The Bobcats’ victory was a showcase of their resilience and efficiency, managing to score four goals from fewer opportunities. Their defensive line, led by McConnell, also deserves credit for their outstanding performance.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Bobcats continue their journey in the season.
