The Montana State University Bobcats showed their prowess on the ice last night, securing a decisive 4-1 win over the University of Wyoming Pokes. Despite the Pokes’ impressive 55 shots, the Bobcats’ steadfast defense and stellar goaltending saw them through to victory.
The game, held at Haynes Pavilion, saw the Bobcats dominate the ice from the get-go. Despite the Pokes’ numerous attempts, the Bobcats’ goalie, Reese McConnell, proved to be a formidable obstacle, saving a remarkable 54 out of 55 shots.
On the other hand, the Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, was unable to keep up with the Bobcats’ offensive onslaught. Despite facing only 35 shots, Sabinash saved just 31, allowing the Bobcats to secure their 4-1 victory.
The game’s highlight was the goal by Nicola Roberts of the Bobcats, which further solidified their lead. The Pokes managed to sneak in a single goal thanks to Zoey Brown, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
Despite both teams failing to capitalize on their powerplays, with the Pokes at 0/3 and the Bobcats at 0/4, the Bobcats still managed to outscore the Pokes.
The Bobcats’ next challenge will be against the University of Utah. The game will be held at home on Friday, February 20th at 7:30 pm MST at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats will certainly be looking to continue their winning streak. Stay tuned for more exciting hockey action!
