The Montana State University Bobcats displayed a stellar performance at Haynes Pavilion on February 7th, 2026, beating the University of Wyoming Pokes with a score of 4-1.
Despite being outshot by the Pokes, the Bobcats managed to clinch the victory, proving once again that quality trumps quantity. The Pokes fired 55 shots in total, while the Bobcats had 35. However, the Bobcats’ accuracy and precision saw them net four goals compared to the Pokes’ singular strike.
Special teams were not a deciding factor in this game, as neither team managed to convert their powerplay opportunities. The Pokes went 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4 on the powerplay.
The game saw a remarkable performance from Bobcats’ goaltender, Reese McConnell, who made an impressive 54 saves on 55 shots. On the other hand, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash stopped 31 out of the 35 shots he faced.
Bobcats’ Nicola Roberts (#26) and Pokes’ Zoey Brown (#2) both managed to find the back of the net once during the game.
