The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging game against the University of Utah Utes on Sunday, February 20th, 2026. In an intense match at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado, the Bobcats couldn’t secure a win, with the final score reading Utes 5, Bobcats 2.
Both teams put up a strong fight, with the Utes firing 38 shots and the Bobcats not far behind with 31. However, the Utes’ offensive pressure was too much for the Bobcats to handle. Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano had an impressive game, saving 29 out of 31 shots, while Bobcats’ Reese McConnell made 33 saves out of 38 shots.
Neither team could capitalize on powerplay opportunities, with the Utes at 0/0 and the Bobcats at 0/2. The star of the game was undoubtedly the Utes’ #12, Morgan Lavalley, who scored two critical goals. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich managed to put one in the net.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game. They will be facing off against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21st, once again at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team is eager to bounce back and show their resilience. Stay tuned for more updates and let’s continue to support our Bobcats!
