The Montana State University Bobcats showed their prowess on the ice once again as they took down the University of Wyoming Pokes in a thrilling 4-1 victory at Haynes Pavilion on February 7, 2026.
Despite being outshot by the Pokes, who managed a whopping 55 shots on goal compared to the Bobcats’ 35, the Bobcats proved that quality trumps quantity. Their superior shot accuracy and defensive prowess were key in securing their win.
Both teams struggled on the powerplay, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4. However, Bobcats’ goalie Reese Mcconnell put up an outstanding performance, saving 54 out of 55 shots. On the other hand, Pokes’ goalie Pudgie Sabinash managed to save 31 out of 35 shots.
The only goal for the Pokes was scored by #2 Zoey Brown. On the Bobcats’ side, #26 Nicola Roberts managed to put one in the net, contributing to the Bobcats’ victory.
