The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging game against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes yesterday at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The Bobcats had a tough time keeping up with the Antelopes, who dominated the game with a final score of 7-1.
The Antelopes had an impressive 64 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 19, highlighting their offensive prowess. The Bobcats struggled to find their footing against the Antelopes’ strong defense and relentless attack.
In terms of power play, the Antelopes capitalized once out of their three opportunities, while the Bobcats were unable to convert any of their two chances. This lack of conversion on power plays was another factor that contributed to the Bobcats’ tough night.
The Antelopes’ goalie, Annika Olson, had a stellar performance with 18 saves out of 19 shots. On the other hand, the Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, faced a barrage of shots, managing to make 57 saves out of 64 shots.
The star of the game was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who scored a hat trick, contributing significantly to her team’s victory. On the Bobcats’ side, #20 Marin Snyder managed to score the lone goal.
Despite the tough loss, the Bobcats will look to learn from this experience and come back stronger in their next game. Stay tuned for more updates on the MSU Bobcats’ hockey season.
