The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes on Sunday, February 20th, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite displaying a strong performance, the Bobcats ultimately fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.

The Utes managed to outshoot the Bobcats, with a total of 38 shots compared to the Bobcats’ 31. However, both teams struggled on the powerplay, with the Utes not having any chances and the Bobcats unable to convert on their two opportunities.

Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, had a strong game with 29 saves from 31 shots. On the other side of the ice, Bobcats’ netminder Reese McConnell stopped 33 out of 38 shots.

The standout player for the Utes was #12 Morgan Lavalley, who managed to net two goals. For the Bobcats, #18 Elly Aldrich was able to put one past the Utes’ goalie.

The Bobcats will look to bounce back in their next game, facing off against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite the loss, the team remains positive and focused on their upcoming game.
