In a hard-fought battle on the ice, the Montana State University Bobcats suffered a defeat against the University of Utah Utes, with a final score of 5-2. The game took place on February 20, 2026, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink in Colorado.
Despite their best efforts, the Bobcats were unable to overcome the Utes’ offensive onslaught. The Utes fired off 38 shots, seven of which found their way past Bobcats’ goalie, Reese Mcconnell. Mcconnell, however, still had a commendable performance with 33 saves out of 38 shots.
The Bobcats, on the other hand, managed 31 shots, but Utes’ goalie Miranda De Antunano was on her game, blocking 29 shots and allowing only two to slip by.
The Utes’ powerplay didn’t get any chances, while the Bobcats had two powerplay opportunities but were unable to capitalize on either.
One of the standout players of the game was Utes’ #12 Morgan Lavalley, who scored two goals, while Bobcats’ #22 Rylan Lorentz was able to net one.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats are looking forward to their next game, which is a home game against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, February 21, at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. They will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back with a victory.
