In a thrilling display of skill and strategy, the Montana State University Bobcats secured a decisive 4-1 victory over the University of Wyoming Pokes on February 7th, 2026 at Haynes Pavilion.

Despite the Pokes outshooting the Bobcats 55-35, the Bobcats’ defense held strong, with goalie Reese Mcconnell making an impressive 54 saves. The Pokes’ goalie, Pudgie Sabinash, saved 31 shots out of 35, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Bobcats at bay.

Neither team managed to capitalize on powerplay opportunities, with the Pokes going 0/3 and the Bobcats 0/4. However, the Bobcats’ offensive prowess shone through, overcoming their powerplay struggles.

Scoring for the Pokes was Zoey Brown, while Nicola Roberts found the back of the net for the Bobcats.

Looking ahead, the Bobcats will be hosting the University of Utah on Friday, February 20th at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. This victory over the Pokes should give the Bobcats a boost of confidence as they prepare for their next game. Will they be able to maintain their winning streak? Only time will tell.
