The Montana State University Bobcats had a challenging game against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes last night at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite a valiant effort, the Bobcats were unable to secure a win, with the final score settling at 7-1 in favor of the Antelopes.
The Antelopes dominated the game with a total of 64 shots, compared to the Bobcats’ 19. The Bobcats’ goalie, Emma Carlson, made a commendable effort with 57 saves, but it wasn’t enough to hold back the Antelopes’ offense. On the other end of the ice, Antelopes’ goalie Annika Olson was kept relatively quiet, facing only 19 shots and making 18 saves.
On the powerplay, the Antelopes were 1 for 3 while the Bobcats were unable to capitalize on their two opportunities. This proved to be a significant factor in the overall outcome of the game.
The star of the game was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12, Jennae Szucs, who scored a hat trick. For the Bobcats, #20 Marin Snyder managed to get on the scoreboard with one goal.
While the Bobcats may have fallen in this game, the season is far from over. They will be looking to learn from this experience and come back stronger in their next match.
