The Montana State University Bobcats faced off against the University of Utah Utes on a chilly evening at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. Despite a strong effort, the Bobcats fell to the Utes with a final score of 5-2.
The Bobcats put up a solid fight, managing 31 shots against the Utes’ 38. Unfortunately, the Utes’ goalie, Miranda De Antunano, was on her game, saving 29 of those shots. On the Bobcats’ side, Reese McConnell defended the net with 33 saves out of 38.
Although the Bobcats’ powerplay was 0/2, they never stopped pushing. Bobcat #18, Elly Aldrich, showed her prowess on the ice, scoring one of the two goals for the team.
The Utes, however, had an outstanding player in #12, Morgan Lavalley, who managed to net two goals, contributing significantly to the Utes’ victory.
The Bobcats are determined to bounce back from this defeat. Their next game is a home match against Grand Canyon University on Saturday, Feb 21 at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The team is ready to regroup, refocus and come out stronger in the next game. Stay tuned for more updates and let’s rally behind our Bobcats!
