In an electrifying display of skill and tenacity, the Montana State University Bobcats secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Grand Canyon University Antelopes on February 1st. The action-packed game took place at AZ Ice Arcadia, where the Bobcats proved that quality trumps quantity.
Despite the Antelopes dominating the shot count with a staggering 55 attempts, the Bobcats managed to make their 23 shots count, with two of their three goals coming from power plays. The Antelopes, on the other hand, were only able to convert one of their three power plays into a goal.
Goalkeeper Reese McConnell was the hero of the day for the Bobcats, making an impressive 53 saves out of 55 shots. On the other side of the rink, Sydney Fornwald of the Antelopes managed 20 saves out of 23 shots.
Bobcats’ #26 Nicola Roberts was on fire, scoring two of the three goals, while #17 Abigail Brigg of the Antelopes managed to net one.
The Bobcats’ next challenge will be a home game against the University of Wyoming. The match is set to take place on Friday, February 6th, at 8:30 pm MST at the Haynes Pavilion. The Bobcats will undoubtedly be looking to carry this momentum forward and secure another victory.
