The Montana State University Bobcats triumphed over the University of Wyoming Pokes in a thrilling match yesterday, with a final score of Bobcats 9, Pokes 3. The game took place at Haynes Pavilion and was an absolute spectacle for Bobcat fans.
The Bobcats dominated the game from the start, with a staggering 58 shots, compared to the Pokes’ 32. Despite the Pokes having more powerplays (0/5), they couldn’t convert these opportunities into goals. The Bobcats, on the other hand, didn’t have a successful powerplay either (0/3), but that didn’t stop them from securing a convincing victory.
The goalie for the Pokes, Alayna Smith, had a tough night, facing 58 shots and making 49 saves. On the other side of the rink, the Bobcats’ Emma Carlson had a comparatively easier night, with 32 shots against her and 29 saves.
The star of the match was undoubtedly Bobcats’ #19 Aziana Schacht, who contributed significantly to the team’s victory with her 4 assists. Pokes’ #40 Lena Roubinek put up a good fight with 2 goals, but it wasn’t enough to tip the scales in their favor.
The Bobcats are looking forward to their next game, which is a home game against the University of Wyoming on Saturday, February 7th, at Haynes Pavilion. If this game is any indication, the Bobcats are more than ready to face the Pokes again.
