It was a difficult night for the Montana State University Bobcats as they faced off against the Grand Canyon University Antelopes at the CU Boulder Rec Center Ice Rink. The final scoreboard read Antelopes 7, Bobcats 1.
The Antelopes dominated the game from the start, displaying a strong offensive play with a total of 64 shots on goal. The Bobcats, on the other hand, managed to get only 19 shots.
The powerplay was another area where the Antelopes outperformed the Bobcats. The Antelopes capitalized on one out of their three powerplay opportunities, while the Bobcats failed to convert any of their two chances.
In the goalie matchup, the Antelopes’ Annika Olson was stellar, saving 18 out of the 19 shots she faced. The Bobcats’ Emma Carlson had a much busier night with 64 shots coming her way, of which she managed to save 57.
The star of the night was undoubtedly the Antelopes’ #12 Jennae Szucs who netted an impressive hat trick. The lone goal for the Bobcats was scored by #20 Marin Snyder.
The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back in their next game and learn from this tough experience.
