The Montana State University Bobcats faced a tough loss against the University of Utah Utes last night at Haynes Pavilion. The final score was Utes 4, Bobcats 2.
The Utes came out strong, firing 42 shots against our Bobcats, who managed to return 33 shots. Despite the high number of shots from the Utes, Bobcats’ goalie Emma Carlson stood her ground, saving 38 of those attempts. On the other side of the rink, the Utes’ goalie, Keyauna Robinson-Prefontaine, faced 33 shots, saving 31.
The powerplay for both teams was a major factor in the game. The Utes had six powerplay opportunities but were unable to convert any, while the Bobcats capitalized on one of their four chances.
The standout player of the match was Utes’ #20 Ashley Paterson, who netted two goals. For the Bobcats, #29 Paiton Miller managed to find the back of the net once.
Despite this setback, the Bobcats are ready to bounce back in their next game. They will be hosting Colorado State University on Friday, January 23, at Haynes Pavilion. We hope to see you there, cheering on our Bobcats!
